What Should I Eat? Spin the Food Wheel

End the endless "I don't know, what do you want?" debate. Spin the food wheel and let it pick lunch, dinner or tonight's takeaway.

Make it your own food wheel

Replace the default cuisines with your go-to restaurants, the meals in your freezer, or dishes you want to learn to cook. Then share the link with your partner, family or roommates so everyone is spinning the same wheel.

Craving something? Give it better odds, like "Pizza*3". Had burgers yesterday? Tap Remove after it wins to take it off the list.

Food wheel ideas

  • Cheap eats: noodles, rice bowls, wraps, jacket potatoes, omelette, toast toppings.
  • Healthy: poke bowl, grilled fish, stir-fry, lentil soup, Buddha bowl, salad.
  • Takeaway night: Indian, Thai, Chinese, pizza, burgers, Mexican, Korean fried chicken.
  • Cook something new: shakshuka, risotto, dumplings, paella, homemade burgers.
  • Breakfast: pancakes, waffles, smoothie bowl, eggs benedict, avocado toast.

The two-spin method for couples and groups

  1. Everyone adds two or three options they would honestly be happy with.
  2. Each person gets one veto, which they can use on a single result.
  3. Spin. If nobody vetoes, that is dinner.
  4. If someone uses their veto, spin once more. The second result is final.

The veto matters. People accept a random result far more readily when they know they had a way out and chose not to use it.

Plan a week of dinners in one go

Put ten or twelve meals you actually cook on the wheel and switch to Elimination mode. Spin seven times, once for each night, and write the results down as you go. Nothing repeats, the shopping list writes itself, and the nightly debate is over before the week starts.

Leave one or two easy options on the list, such as leftovers or something from the freezer, so a busy evening does not derail the plan.

Wheels for different diets and budgets

  • Vegetarian: veggie curry, halloumi wraps, mushroom risotto, bean chilli, pasta bake, falafel bowls.
  • Vegan: lentil dhal, tofu stir-fry, chickpea stew, peanut noodles, stuffed peppers, bean burgers.
  • High protein: chicken and rice, salmon and greens, turkey chilli, omelette, steak salad, tuna pasta.
  • Under 20 minutes: fried rice, quesadillas, pesto pasta, eggs on toast, noodle soup, wraps.
  • Kid-friendly: fish fingers, mild curry, spaghetti bolognese, homemade pizza, jacket potatoes.

Frequently asked questions

Can the food wheel plan meals for a whole week?

Yes. Add at least seven meals, switch to Elimination mode and spin once per day. Each meal is removed after it is picked, so nothing repeats.

What if nobody likes the result?

Agree one veto per person before you spin. If a veto is used, spin once more and treat the second result as final.

How does the what to eat wheel decide?

Each food option gets a slice, and a secure random generator picks one. Add weights like "Sushi*2" if you want some options to come up more often.

Can I add my own restaurants?

Yes. Clear the entries and type your favourite restaurants, one per line. The wheel saves automatically in your browser.

Can my partner and I use the same wheel?

Yes. Click the Share button to copy a link that opens your exact wheel on their phone.
