About SpinTheWheel.live

SpinTheWheel.live is a free collection of random pickers: a spinning wheel you can fill with anything, a set of ready-made wheels for common decisions and games, and a coin flip, dice roller and team generator. It is an independent site, built and maintained by the same people who write its guides, and it is not affiliated with any other wheel or picker website.

Why we built it

Picking something at random should take seconds. Too often it means closing pop-ups, creating an account, or wondering whether the result was really random. We wanted a wheel that opens instantly, works on an old phone or a classroom projector, and is honest about how it chooses. It launched in September 2026 and we add to it most weeks.

Who uses it

How a winner is chosen

Every wheel, coin, die and team shuffle uses your browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, the same source used to create encryption keys. The winner is chosen first, with each entry's chance in proportion to the size of its slice, and only then does the wheel animate to land on it. Spinning harder changes how long the wheel turns, never where it stops. We cannot set, see or influence a result. The full explanation, including a test you can run yourself, is in how online wheel spinners work.

What happens to what you type

Nothing you enter is uploaded to us. Your entries are saved in your own browser so the wheel is there next time, and a share link carries the wheel inside the link itself rather than on a server. There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for. The details are in our privacy policy.

How the site is funded

The tools are free and will stay free. The site is supported by advertising, which pays for hosting and the time spent building it. Ads never affect a result, and we do not sell placement on the wheels or in the guides.

How we write our guides

The guides are written by us, not copied or spun from other sites. Where a guide gives odds or probabilities, the figures are worked out from first principles and checked. Where it refers to research, it names the researchers so you can look the work up. Each guide shows the date it was last updated.
